Catalyst Healthcare Real Estate: Our Journey

1996-2001
Entrepreneurial Beginnings

Catalyst Healthcare Real Estate began with Henderson’s entrepreneurial vision. At 16, he launched a boat-based ice cream business along the Gulf Coast in 1996, sparking a passion for purpose-driven ventures. By 2001, after earning a Finance degree from Florida State University, he founded THG Investments to support healthcare innovations like Intelligent Retinal Imaging Systems (IRIS) to combat preventable blindness.

2011-2018
Founding and Early Growth

In 2011, Catalyst was established in Pensacola, Florida, as a boutique firm specializing in healthcare real estate solutions across the Southeast, aiding hospitals and providers post-2008 recession. By 2018, Catalyst expanded nationally, growing its portfolio five-fold, doubling its workforce, and opening offices in Dallas and Tampa, serving partners in 23 states.

2021-2023
Strategic Partnerships and Recognition

Catalyst formed a $1.5 billion partnership with National Real Estate Advisors in 2021 to develop and acquire healthcare assets nationwide, including PAM Health rehabilitation facilities. In 2022, a partnership with Dr. James Andrews launched Andrews Medicine, LLC, focusing on sports medicine and orthopedics. Catalyst also earned consecutive honors as one of Florida’s Best Companies to Work For in 2022 and 2023.

2024–2025
National Impact and Continued Growth

In 2024, Henderson was named Healthcare Real Estate Executive of the Year. Catalyst secured a $300 million joint venture with Heitman, fueling projects like the Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute and a PAM Health hospital in Ohio. In June 2025, Catalyst broke ground on a 60,000-square-foot medical office building in Maryland with Bain Capital. From Gulf Coast roots to national leader, Catalyst’s purposeful growth continues.
