Catalyst Healthcare Real Estate in partnership with MUSC Health and Intuitive Health Break Ground on First Hybrid Freestanding ER & Urgent Care in South Carolina

PENSACOLA, FLA. – Catalyst Healthcare Real Estate (Catalyst), a leading national healthcare real estate development and investment firm, has broken ground on a 12,700-square-foot freestanding emergency department (FSED) and urgent care facility in Columbia, South Carolina. The building will be fully leased through a venture between MUSC Health and Intuitive Health. This collaboration will expand MUSC Health’s ambulatory footprint across South Carolina and mark Intuitive Health’s entry into the state. Intuitive Health partners with local health systems nationwide to combine urgent care and emergency room services under one roof—ensuring patients receive the appropriate level of care without needing multiple visits to different facilities. “Patients in South Carolina will no longer need to choose between ER and urgent care, they can come to a single location and get excellent care, in a highly efficient environment, while only paying for the level of care that they actually need,” said Thom Herrmann, CEO of Intuitive Health. MUSC Health and Intuitive Health plan to open multiple facilities in select markets throughout South Carolina, with this Columbia location serving as Intuitive Health’s inaugural facility in the state.
